Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run the site, respond to you, and improve our tools. Depending on how you use Rateshive, this may include:

• Contact and form data: name, email address, message content, and category when you use the Contact feedback form or similar submissions.
• Rate alert signups: email address and preferences you submit to receive mortgage rate or market updates. We send a verification email before activating a subscription.
• Get started / lead forms: email, optional name, loan intent fields, and related details when you submit interest through Get started or related flows.
• Technical and usage data: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps processed by our hosting provider (Cloudflare) for security, delivery, and abuse prevention.
• Attribution data: when you click certain outbound lender links, we may store short-lived cookies (for example click ID and lender slug) so we can understand which page or module referred the click. See “Cookies” below.

We do not require an account to use most calculators; typical tool inputs stay in your browser unless you choose a feature that asks for your email (for example exporting results).

How we use information

We use collected information to:

• Operate calculators, market pages, Insights, and Learn content.
• Send rate-alert emails you requested and process verification/unsubscribe requests.
• Respond to feedback, support inquiries, and product research submissions.
• Measure aggregate interest in tools and outbound links to improve the site.
• Prevent spam, abuse, and fraudulent signups (including bot checks where enabled).
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.

Rate alerts and your email

If you sign up for daily or threshold rate alerts, we store your email address and alert preferences in secure cloud storage so our automated systems can send the messages you requested. Daily and benchmark emails are sent automatically after you confirm your address; we do not manually maintain a public mailing list page.

We do not sell subscriber emails to third-party marketers. Your address is not published on rateshive.com for others to browse. Access is limited to operating the service (for example hosting, email delivery, and fraud prevention) and is not shared for unrelated purposes.

Storage and retention

Form submissions and rate-alert records may be stored in secure cloud infrastructure (including Cloudflare Workers KV) and processed by email delivery providers (such as Resend) so we can send messages you requested.

We retain information only as long as needed for the purposes above, unless a longer period is required by law. Verified rate-alert subscriptions remain until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove your address. Feedback and lead records may be kept for a reasonable period to track product improvements and support history. Calculator inputs are generally processed in your browser and are not stored as part of normal use.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Rateshive and our service providers may use cookies or similar technologies for:

• Attribution: cookies such as rh_click_id, rh_lender_slug, and related fields set when you use tracked outbound links, typically for a limited period (for example up to 30 days).
• Security: Cloudflare Turnstile or similar checks on some forms to reduce automated abuse.
• Advertising: Google AdSense and related Google services may set cookies to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads where permitted by your settings and law.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect some features (for example attribution on return visits). For Google ad personalization, visit Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info.

Google AdSense and third-party advertising

We use Google AdSense (Google LLC) to display advertisements. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You can learn how Google uses data at Google’s partner sites policy. Our ads.txt file lists authorized sellers for rateshive.com.

As noted in our site footer and Methodology, Rateshive does not currently earn lender referral fees. Advertising, if shown, is separate from outbound lender links unless we disclose otherwise in the future.

Service providers

We use trusted providers to host and operate the site, including Cloudflare (hosting, security, and storage), Resend (transactional email), and Google (fonts and advertising scripts). These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy terms and only as needed to deliver their services.

Market charts and Insights may display data from public sources (for example U.S. government statistical agencies). Those sources are cited on relevant pages; they are not receiving your personal data from us through ordinary browsing.

Your choices

• Rate alerts: use the unsubscribe link in any alert email, or email us to remove your address.
• Access or deletion: email info@rateshive.com to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information we hold about you, subject to legal exceptions.
• Do Not Track: we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals; you may use cookie and ad settings described above instead.

Data sources and accuracy

Educational content and benchmarks are based on publicly available data and internal models. We cite sources where appropriate but make no warranty that any information is accurate, complete, or current. See our Methodology page. You are responsible for verifying information before relying on it.

No financial or legal guarantee

Content, alerts, and emails are for general informational purposes only. They are not financial, legal, tax, or lending advice. We do not guarantee any outcome from using the site, subscribing to alerts, or submitting forms. Always verify final terms, fees, and requirements with licensed professionals.

Your responsibility

You are solely responsible for how you use this site and for decisions you make based on information here. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rateshive is not liable for issues related to collection, use, disclosure, or security of information described in this policy. Policy updates

We may update this policy when our products, advertising, or legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date below reflects the current version. Material changes will be posted on this page.
